Digital design encompasses a variety of mediums, including social media graphics, web banners/advertisements and e-blasts/digital newsletters. Much like a magazine ad, digital design is vying for attention. It must stand out. As our inboxes get fuller, and our eyes get trained to quickly sort out visual information on a website or smartphone, the importance of digital design can’t be under-emphasized. Its job is two-fold: 1) to win a reader’s attention, and 2) to get them to make that essential click (or touch). Digital design has a tough row to hoe, and it has to be powerful.
